Grocery retailer set to open on Calgary’s westside in the much anticipated Trinity Hills development
Save-On-Foods, Canada’s largest western-based grocery retailer, will open a new Calgary store to serve residents on the west-side of the city. A division of the Overwaitea Food Group LP, a Jim Pattison business, the new store will mark Save-On-Foods’ 5th Calgary location. Save-On-Foods is set to open its doors in 2018 in Trinity Hills, alongside Canada Olympic Park.
Trinity’s new development spans 100 acres at the base of Paskapoo Slopes, and is highly anticipated by residents on the city’s west side as it will provide shops, restaurants, residential homes and access to stunning nature trails for hiking and biking. Serving as the town centre to the community, Trinity Hills is designed to provide residents with convenient access to diverse retail offerings. Save-On-Foods joins MEC (Mountain Equipment Co-op) as an anchor tenant in the development.
“We’re thrilled to work with Save-On-Foods as one of our anchor tenants at Trinity Hills,” said Fred Waks, President and CEO of Trinity Development Group. “We’re creating a lively, pedestrian-friendly, urban neighbourhood with high street stores, pleasing streetscapes, residences and a vibrant entertainment district. We’re honoured Save-On-Foods chose Trinity Hills as the home of its newest location.”
Save-On-Foods currently operates more than 150 stores across Western Canada and is committed to Going the Extra Mile for customers by delivering great value and high quality products with its unique approach of customizing each store to best suit the needs of the neighbourhood.
“As Save-On-Foods continues to expand its presence across Western Canada, opening another store to serve west Calgary in the Trinity Hills neighbourhood is a great next step,” said Darrell Jones, President, Save-On-Foods. “We at Save-On-Foods are thrilled to join this new Calgary community as we continue our mission to deliver the best grocery shopping experience in Canada. As Canada’s largest Western-based grocer, it’s a privilege to contribute to the ongoing retail and commercial development of west Calgary.”
